Who Is A.C. Burns?
A.C. Burns was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He began writing as a teen and has published some of his earlier material to Word Connections II, a collection 0f poems and short stories from across the world. Burns studied Liberal Arts at Dillard University, an historically black university. He lives in New Orleans, and “I Was Just Thinking Of You” is his first collection of poems. He is currently working on a memoir.

Even for those who may consider themselves scorned or skeptics of love, this collection of poems will leave you with the challenge to be a little more vulnerable, love a little more, and appreciate the beauty along the way. My favorite piece from the collection, An Ode: To Girls Like You, feels like a personal love letter to Black Women. I’ve fallen in love with the writings of A.C. Burns and I can’t wait to see what he is going to give us next!

A.C Burns has a way with words. His vulnerability is our vulnerability—his poetry gives us a window into our hearts in which we are able to openly embrace the thoughts and feelings that we have, but have not been able to articulate. I can’t wait for him to write a novel for us!
